New Moon Greetings,
A couple of exciting things are happening here. First, I am performing May 31 at the Out There series, 1:30pm CMT Washington Park, Milwaukee. A festival dedicated to fostering deep listening, artistic exploration, and ecological awareness through outdoor performances in green spaces. This Moon Cycle-
The tarot card Queen of pentacles is a symbol I have been thinking a lot about this month. She symbolizes wealth thru generosity and grace. Wealth not defined as money but community, companionship and kindness towards others. For example, I feel wealthy every time I help a music student. Listening and holding space for others is not only respectful but honours them and myself. It’s not a forceful energy but a soft power. A power shared together.
This moon cycle asks, how can we embody the Queen of pentacles? What is our most valued resource? How does it empower this within others and ourselves? Recently, I watched the film Kundun. The story of 14th Dalai Lama and the invasion of China into Tibet. Adherents of Tibetan Buddhism consider the Dalai Lama a living Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva of Compassion and are a non-violent society. An inspiring film, not only as biography but a culture that believes in strength as an act of kindness.

Wandering Tale- Soft Power
This morning I did a general protection spell, as I do seasonally or whenever I feel the need. And though I saw my phone two hours ago, I can’t seem to find it anywhere now. Interestingly enough, because yesterday morning two strangers showed up at my front door looking for their phone. They had lost it at a music venue the night before and according to their ‘Find My’ app it was on the property I live on. It wasn’t.
Sometimes protection spells like clearing spells have odd side effects or results. Over the years, I have learned in moments like these to let go. The bigger picture will reveal itself. Maybe, I was meant to write about it here, maybe I am meant to miss a call or do something else. Whatever it may be I have learned to trust these moments. Listening to my inner voice. This is a soft power I am holding for myself, trusting intuition. And as I finished writing this last sentence, I remembered where my phone was.
